they either have autisim or they don't no such thing as a touch of it. ↑ |
Often times, there is usually a wait to see a doctor for evaluation...that was my case as well. My opinion is if your son is speech delayed, continue with the speech therapy, he'll needed wheather he's autistic or not. It's easier to get insurance coverage for speech therapy with an official diagnoses, but nonetheless, whichever areas of developmental delay you see (by your instinct), seek help for that because it only helps him in the end regardless of any diagnoses. ↑ |
Don't wait. Get your doc to prescribe speech and OT NOW. Depending on his other needs you might try other things. ↑ |
hi again my son he saw a specialist and he stated to me that he does have autism and it wasnt severe he had a touch of it and it really didnt make sense to me ↑ |
Was he officially diagnosed then? I've never heard of a touch of autism. Usually they diagnose young ones as being on spectrum with mild, moderate, or severe autism (however, don't trust the mild, moderate or severe idea because that will most likely change as he ages). I'd say get him as much therapy as you can. ↑ |
It sounds to me that a touch of it means mild autism, I used common sense to figure that out for all of yous (rachtwins) having trouble with it. ↑ |
I believe that a touch of autism means mild autism, I used common sense to figure that out for everyone (rachtwins) having trouble with it.
You should have gotten a letter while you were at the appointment with the doctor with the doctors recommendations and I believe the school can recommeds their own eval for OT and ST and they can start the services as soon as the evals are completed. ↑ |
I've read alot about different treatment for autism, you might try looking into the different treatments. Your child sounds like the perfect canidate. ↑ |
You need to call your local board of education and they can evaluate him or her so you can enroll him or her in the early intervention program. the earlier the therapy the better... ↑ |
