Sorry about the gross topic but my son does it all the time. I won't tell you what else he does with it. I have no clue on how to make him stop. I tell him all the time don't do that and why but he's not understanding. Any advice?

Thanks

I have a 23 year old son that has autism. My son usally does bad behaviors for attention. Try to ignore it a couple of times.and see if it helps. If not he may be obssessed with holes. Try finding like playdough or something else that he may like the feel of . Could it also be the feel? Have you contacted the resource center for autism. They have been a life line for me.

wow thought my son was the only one who did that and he is 10.he seams to think its normal,so now i tell him if you want to do that go in the bathroom or other room to do it.it seams the only way as other methods just set him off.

Oh yeah, I can one up you in the gross department. My son's favorite pastime for a while was playing with his poop. He still does it from time to time, just for kicks and giggles. Consistantly and firmly saying "NO, NO...thats yucky" seemed to work. I also think he liked the attention, because it meant straight to the tub, his favorite place. Finally, I would admonish him, rinse him off very quickly and pluck him out of the tub immediately. I realized that let him take a bath after was a sort of unintended reward. I believe, he then associated, hey play with poop, get a bath....so he started doing it on purpose:)
