are conducting a survey to gauge the effectiveness of different technological tools and devices in creating
games and interactive programs for children with autism. The technologies being researched through this survey are methods used in various interactive systems these days, such as facial recognition, speech analysis and gesture recognition etc. This survey will serve as the basis for creating guidelines for designing video games and computer-based tools specifically aimed for encouraging interaction in children with autism.
Consider a computer program in which the child has the chance to interact with an animated character, such as a cat, dog, a train, an alien or even Elmo. We want your opinion of how effective you think the techniques being researched here will be in boosting interaction in a child with autism.
