| well when my son was 6 weeks he was fine taking a bottle so i didnt try it for ages and jst assumed he would do it now hes 3 months and wont touch a bottle i think were hes used to breast hes jst not intrested in a bottle. i think if u keep intruducing it then ure baby should switch between the 2. ↑ |
| i wouldn't introduce the bottle any earlier than 6 weeks though. if you do you are at risk of nipple confusion which can ruin your nursing relationship. every baby is different. mine was like jo's and wouldn't take a bottle. my best friend's little girl took one like a champ everytime. it is hard to tell without trying. if you can't get him/her to take one then you should check out jo's post. i posted some good links on there. ↑ |
| i remember my doctor said that the mother would have a harder time giving a bottle than getting it from lets say the father or grandmother or someone other than yourself. When he/she is with you they expect a boob and when they don't get it they get confused. I would first wait at least 6 weeks and then introduce the bottle if you must, but get someone other than yourself to do it!! ↑ |
