My daughter's six months old and still nurses to sleep. We bathe her, dress her then I lay down with her until she falls asleep eating. If she doesn't drift off, I rock her to sleep than lay her down. She also sleeps in our bed with us and has since she outgrew her bassinet. We tried reading her a story before bed too, but she loves books so much it made her too excited and she wouldn't settle down! ↑ |
11 weeks is a little early to expect consistent results, but it is certainly a good time to start practicing a routine and discovering what activities are calming for your daughter. My daughter is 10 months and after dinner we play, then around 7:30 she gets a bath. She loves her bath so that takes about 20 minutes. After bath I give her a baby massage with lavendar lotion that is supposed to help calm babies. Then we put on pajamas, we clean up her toys in her room, choose a couple of stories and read them. Then we get her blanket and her lovey, a nice warm bottle and I rock her until she falls asleep. Out of all of those things that we do, the one thing that seems to make a difference is her lovey. I started putting it in her crib when she slept when she was about 3 months old, but you can start right away. Now, when I hand her the lovey and wrap her in the blanket, she knows it means bedtime. ↑ |
