Breast feeding is a wonderful thing to share with your baby. I intend to nurse as long as I can (he is already weaning himself at 8 months). so don't be devistated if your baby chooses to stop on his own. It is important for a one year old to switch from the breast to a cup so I plan to pump and offer my milk by cup for as long as I can. I also have a three year old son and I can not imagine anyone trying to nurse him. I can have an intellegent conversation with him...thats just weird. ↑
In some countries it is exceptable to breastfeed until the age of 5. I live in the US and my friend weaned her son a little after the age of 4 because she had another child. Some people were not comfortable with this because it's not the norm in our society. I think it's a personal choice and there is nothing wrong with it. Go as long as you can. My son wanted to stop breastfeeding at 13 months and I was not prepared for that. ↑
Thanks for the support your right not everyone is an agreement with me but it just feels right to me. And hey it's my son right. ↑
Can u still breastfeed and be on birth-control?? ↑
I am so glad to see that younger and younger women are taking on breastfeeding...When I became pregnant at the age of 21 I said I would breast feed...and that was the best decision ever...I have since then had 3 more kids the last being a 2 month old...she is a breast fed child...the longest I breast fed was 14 months and with this last child...I am hoping to go 24 months...yes breast milk is the best for your child....no that is not wrong at all...be proud of your decision...you made the right one in my books ↑
Alana, yes you can still breastfeed while on birthcontrol...although some doctors think that it may decrease a little but i wouldnt worry about it...the more you breast feed your child it will send signals to your brain to produce more milk, its a by demand thing...if your child breast feeds 8 - 12 times a day you are doing great....sometimes it helps to even help to wake your baby up to feed there is nothing wrong with that... ↑
