I have a question. I have an appt tomorrow for a WIC appt that the doctors office set up for me. I am breastfeeding only, does WIC offer anything I might need besides formula? I don't need it for myself I just need it for the baby.

they lent me a hospital grade breastpump for 6 months. they also give you coupons for things like milk and cheese...peanut butter/lentils/eggs, etc

emma, thanks for your reply. oh awesome. well i have a breastpump but im not very satisfied with it, since i dont breastfeed i just pump and feed her from the bottle, so i use it a lot and i can tell it's already slowly not as effective as it was when i first got it (2 wks ago!). so maybe they'll let me borrow one from them.

My friend has W.I.C and in ohio W.I C. gives the mother vouchers for stuff like eggs, milk, cheese, cereal, tuna fish, beans, juice if you breast feed. If the mother is not breast feeding then the child get formula and the tuna fish is cut out.

Okay so I went to my WIC appt and they set one up for me next week. this one was just for the baby, they were busy today. Since she is breastfeeding they dont provide anything for her like formula, but they said next week at my appt they'll sign me up so I can get WIC checks to get eggs, milk, cheese, etc....since I'm breastfeeding they said I need the nutrition and healthy things since it'll feed the baby. So that's awesome! I didnt know we'd get all that, i thought it was just formula for the baby! haha too bad they dont give you diapers!!! haha...but thats not food, but she surely poops the food out in there!!! just joking!
