I do not suggest doing this. nipple stimulation can cause contractions. also u want you baby to have the "first milk" colstrum. it is basically just anti bodies and is vital to your baby's immune system. it isn't worth the time of pumping or the risk. although i do encourage you to breastfeed when you little one does get here. i also suggest you meeting with a lactaion consultant before you leave the hospital. good luck and i hope you can do it!! ↑ |
Do not pump until your baby is born at all....it can release natrual oxytocin and start labor... plus melissa is right ...babies need the colostrum ↑ |
Wait for your baby..........
I know it must be hard but you have to let things take there corse.
It is so much easyer to feed a baby who went to 40 weeks or more then it is at 37 weeks. ↑ |
you want you baby to have the colstrum (spelling?) that comes before the milk it has lots of nutrents. There are herbs or an RX that you can take to help with milk production if you don't make enough. ↑ |
ok, i had the same question. and it has been answered by these helpful ladies. but i ONLY want to pump. with my first child, it was very hard to transition to bottle feeding, (she would not take a bottle but breast feeding was EXCRUTIATINGLY painful) though my dr and a lactation specialist assured me that she was getting enough milk form me...i couldn't endure the pain and planed to go back to work within the next two weeks. i was hoping to start this baby with bottle only (wit my breast milk) IMPOSSIBLE? ↑ |
