My good friend has had 2 babies in the last year (blessed or cursed? heehee). Anyway, she has an overabundance of breast milk that she thinks she would like to sell. Not that she is looking to make money, she would be willing to donate it to someone who could not afford it, however, she thinks it is pretty crappy that the milk banks are making money off people but expecting moms to supply it to them for free. Maybe we are undereducated about this. Any advice or help out there for her? As you can imagine she has no time to be doing this herself, and me, I am just sitting at home trying to get pregnant so I have all the time in the world. Appreciate your (positive) comments!

It would need to be donated to a milk bank and teh reason they charge is not to make money, but because of all the testing that needs done. Breast milk is a body fluid and therefore can transmit HIV and hepatitis. If they paid for people to donate can you imagine all the drug addicts that would be selling their milk for money for a fix? Anyway I am pretty sure medicare etc would cover the cost for poor moms to get it from the milk banks.
