My granddaughter is only 2 weeks old and my daughter-in-law has found that her milk has dried up- she continued to feed the baby formula more and more until this happened. However, she now wishes to attempt to get her milk back and has rented a pump. Does anyone have any suggestions beyond continous pumping that would potentiate the return of her breastmilk- obviously this issue is time sensitive so any immediate suggestion would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you

have her put the baby to breast as much as possible. also eating oatmeal helps increase milk supply. just have her pump every hour (if possible) and put he baby on as much as she will tollerate. if she doesn't have any luck then have her talk to her doctor and they can perscribe a perscribtion that will help her milk. hope some of this helps and good luck!

The herb Fenugreek can help. Also, some prescription drugs are used to increase breastmilk supply - she will have to visit her doctor to find out what is safe.
Tell her to keep pumping and putting the baby to the breast.

Yes the herb Fenugreek it's in a tea called Mother's Milk and you can get that at a health food store. I had to stop drinking the milk because I became engorged and I only drank it 3 times with days in between, I'd imagine that If you drank like the directions say her milk should get flowing. And why would she feed the baby so much with formula if she wanted to breastfeed? Get that baby on the boob!

I meant I had to stop drinking the tea!
