I love my baby, but i don't like breastfeeding. I want to do it because it's healthy, but I feel so lazy and tired. What can I do to inspire me to keep doing it?

WELL,i am really happy to see what you post, because now i know i am not a bad mom :) cause i feel exactly as you,i had my first boy 4months ago, from longtime ago he starts to feed from one breast only,,then now he is eating everything, cereals, fruits i make in home, and biscuit with milk,so my breast feeding really decreased,i dont like breastfeeding too,i hate just keep on eating to produce milk,,,,and feel lazy too BUT YOU HAVE TO CONTINUE AT LEAST UNTIL YOUR BABY IS ONE YEAR OLD,,,FOR HIM TO BE HEALTHY AND NOT FOR YOU TO FEEL GUILTY,,,I KNOW IT IS HARD,,,BUT I THINK AS LONG AS YOU DONT LIKE BREASTFEEDING,SO YOU ARE NOT GIVING HIM ENOUGH MILK,SO I SUGGEST YOU START FEED HIM SOME MEALS BESIDE BREATFEEDING TO MAKE SURE HE GOT ALL VITAMINS AND FOOD HE NEEDS TO GROW UP.GOOD LUCK

aliaa- your son is only 4 months old? why r u feeding him anything besides breastmilk or formula. the WHO and the AAP reccomend exclusivly breastfeeding for the 1st 6 months. he shouldn't be eating all those other foods yet. it is bad because he can develop allergies and not good on his tummy.

mybabyboy- it is also good for your health not just your babies. for every year a mother breastfeeds it reduces the chance of type 2 diabetes by 25%. it also reduces the chance of all the female cancers. r u drinking enough water? r u exercising? these are some things that could help you not to feel so tired. how old is your little one?

aliaa-- you should talk to your dr. because most recomend that you give only breast milk or formula for the first 6 mo. some say it is ok to itntroduce rice cereal at 4mo, but the main diet should still be breastmilk/formula. If you introduce too many foods too soon you can cause stomach problems and food alergies.

mybabyboy-- Well think of it this way it is much easier to take out your breast at 2:30am then it is to fumble with heating formula in a bottle. If you are feel down you should try getting out more or getting some excercise. If you still feel bad talk to your dr it may be a little depression setting in. If you are having pain call a lactation consulant who can help you with latch on. Be sure to get lots to drink. Good luck, and remember this is not only good for the baby, but for you too. You use up more calories when you breast feed so you will be more likely to get rid of that baby weight

Thanks everyone. I'm not depressed and to be honest I don't exercise. He's one month old and he doesn;t have any problems latching.

well....in my country,we used to introduce to the baby 4months or 6months (it depends on the baby)some food like cereal,or natural fruits (not gerber)but natural made at home,my baby only breastfeeding from 1 breast, and i dont actually eat enough, because i really suffer from being forced to eat for 1 year cause i am pregnant then because i am breastfeeding,my nature is not eating much,so my baby even after breatfeed he looks hungry,he really need something to eat,he is fine thx god and enjoying good health and he loves the food so much,i didnt stop breastfeeding and i will not stop before a year.(sometimes your grandma who raised a lot of children can give you a better advice than the docotr) although of course the doctor is needed and important for my baby health, this is my point of view
