Name: Rosetta [ Original Post ] I've been breastfeeding for a few months now, and I am very happy with my choice. This is my first child, so I was very concerned with doing everything right. But so far, so good. I have been suffering from headaches lately though...stress related or something...and was wondering if it's okay to take aspirin or painkillers while breastfeeding? Anybody know? ↓

It should be okay although I would try to stay away from really powerful stuff. I always used this as my rule of thumb: if I could take it during pregnancy, I can take while breastfeeding (and vice versa) ↑

Regular strength Tylenol or Acetaminophen is ok to take while nursing. Be sure to dring plenty of water. If it continues, you should talk with your doctor. ↑

Tylenol is okay to take. My doctor said anything over the counter is okay, but I avoided Aleve and such. What I took while pregnant is what I'll take while nursing. ↑
