I have bumped up an article that has some great information to make you feel at ease about your milk production. You are not starving your baby ... I am kind of wondering if it is the opposite. Usually at night your supply works overtime, it's a great time to pump. It may be that the milk is coming out too fast to comfortably nurse since he does great during the day.
Here are some suggestions on how to help if that may be the problem.

is there anything you eat or take before bed that may be irriating him?
Maybe try a different hold at nighttime that maybe more comfy for him or go feed where you do during the day (maybe he needs the familiarity??)
You are doing an amazing job! This is a little bump in the road and I am sure we will get you right back on track. Keep up the good work! ↑ |
Providing your baby is pooping and weeing then he's getting enough milk.
If he's crying in the evenings then it could be colic. Take a look at www.colief.com
You need to try to keep breastfeeding as much as possible during the night as the lactation hormone Prolactin is produced in the greatest quantities then.
How old is your baby? ↑ |
I thought it might be colic but he does still latch on he just punches at me or squeeze then cries popes off and then re latches ↑ |
When is the problem mainly occuring? Is it mainly during the evenings? ↑ |
Take a look inside his mouth to make sure that he hasn't got any thrush. It resembles white cheesy curds. It makes the mouth sore and can cause problems with latching on. ↑ |
