I am nursing my 3 mo. old daughter and she keeps getting thrush, as a result, I do too. She is on Nystatin again and I am using Nystatin cream on myself in between feedings, but I am afraid if this continues, the dr. will tell me I shouldn't nurse her anymore. I would then have to pump, but I love nursing her. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Make sure have sterilized anything that your baby would put in her mouth. Pacifiers, toys, gum brush, etc. These need be clean otherwise she can keep getting thrush from these items if she sucked on anything while she had the thrush. Also, before you breastfeed try washing your breasts with warm soapy water. I know it's a pain, but it might cut down on any bacteria. You might want to pump until everything clears up to prevent reinfecting.

Thanks Angie. I am going to try that, however, what do I do for those mid night feedings? Do I need to wash them then too? Don't know if I have the mind set to do that then. But I will try my best. I appreciate the info.
