i haven't yet...my son is 10 months old and i'm ready....what do i do?!?! ↑
My daughter is 15 months old and still nurses like a newborn (8-12 times daily). I am planning on letting her self wean, so I don't have any advice. You can call your local La Leache League and they have a specific meeting about weaning that maybe you can go to that and get some answers. For that info, you can go to http://www.lalecheleague.org/home_intro.html to find a local group/meeting. Good Luck. ↑
I weaned my son when he was 17 months old. It was as soon as I found out that I was actually 2 months pregnant so I didnt have a choice but to wean him. It was very ard for him. I bought a vegetable from an asian store called bitter melon and I rubbed it in my nipples. This thing was so bitter and it really tasted awful and in the beginning he didnt want to feed from me but he was getting really tired and sleepy so he decided to give in t the bitter taste and suck on anyway. the next night, I just hid from him. everytime it was time to nurse .. i would just hide and he didnt stop crying an would fall asleep. It was harrd but he was so attached to my bobs that doing it this way was really the only way. After about a week he didnt ask for it again. The only thing is DONT GIVE IN. its hard for both of you but it will be hard anyway. Good luck ↑
I heard putting vinegar on your nipples work too!! lol...that's what my husband's mom did to wean him when he was a baby! but that was also almost 30 years ago...i don't really know if people still recommend it or if it even matters ↑
