Ive breastfed all my children 5 and I am on my last and I love it and I would not have changed a thing. The longest so far was 15 months but i am about to pass that. Whatever works for you. I have a friend who did it with her last till 3 and says it gets embarresing at times when her child is yelling nurse mama! ↑

I only managed to breastfeed for twelve months with my daughter, although I did want to reach her 2nd Birthday. At the end of the day the choice was my daughters and she just didn't want to take from the breast anymore and hasn't had any milk since.(now 27 months old) I guess it is each individual persons choice but after the age of two there are no longer any health benefits to either child or mother. ↑

The longest I would is age two. But after a year I'm going to slowly eliminate day feedings one by one and let her nurse just at night for awhile. She's almost 9 months now ↑

ok, 10 or 12 is a bit bizarre I think. What kind of 12 yo would still want to nurse then? I will nurse my daughter until 18 months or so,but 12 yo... not happening! ↑
