| I read on medlineplus.gov that doctors suggest for women to not get a breast reduction if they plan to breast feed. I am also thinking of getting a breast reduction, I have been researching, I am a size 34F. I hope this is somewhat helpful. ↑ |
| It depends on if your milk glands were removed. My cousin had a breast reduction and they removed her milk glands. If your nipples were reattached properly I would say your okay. What do you have to loose by trying. I have to ask did that hurt and did you loose sensation in your nipples? It sounds painful. ↑ |
I had a breast reduction - the type where they reattached the nipples and I had no problems at all with breastfeeding. I had been told that I wouldn't be able to, but when my son was born he took to it right away and there always seemed to be enough milk for him.
You'll have to see how much milk is produced after you have the baby. If they've taken away too many milk glands then it might not work.
I also took the herb Fenugreek to increase my milk supply.
Good Luck ↑ |
You can still breastfeed following a c-section. The painkillers they give you won't interfere with that. You're not on them for that long anyway.
Breast feeding can take a while to get established following birth so it can be tiring - esp. after a c-section, but once it is established, it's great and far healthier than formula. ↑ |
