I know this isn't what you want to know, but what cleft was he born with? My daughter was born with a partial lip cleft and a full palette (sorry if spelled wrong) cleft. I have never been able to get much milk, so I don't kjnow about the weight thing. Good luck to you.

don't eat less just eat better. your body is actually using up more calories when you are breast feeding so you have to be sure that you are giving it the fuel it needs or it will store fat and you will not be able to loose any weight. Lots of veggies and complex fruit. no white starches at all (bread, pasta, potato etc...) and lean meats. try to eat at least 5 small meals a day so you stay fuled up and your body will burn away and your milk supply will stay where it needs to be for the baby. Good luck

Eat healthy I have lost all the baby weight already and I eat a lot to compensate for all that I am losing but I try to eat healthy and it seems to have paid off!

drink TONS of water. it boosts your metabolism. just don't quit eating. eat small meals throughout the day... healthy ones.
