Why in the world would you want to put yourself through all that extra work? Pumping is time consuming, you have to freeze the milk, unthaw, warm it , sterilize bottles, carry coolers and bottle warmers when you go out..... why? Just curious

gee i couldnt think of anything worse...even with an electric pump it was time comsuming, the only reason i ever expressed was so my husband could do the night feed...or any feed. my friend expressed everyday for childcare and she said there came a point where her whole life revolved around pumps and bottles...physically it wont do your baby any harm, for you, be prepared to be tired.
good luck

I have been expressing into bottles for 2 weeks now.my son is 3 weeks old.he was born little and was having problems latching on.I have put him on the boob a couple of times and he latches on really good now but my nipples hurt that much when hes sucking I sit there and cry the hole time.I really want to breast feed.is there anything I can do to ease the pain.I dont look forward to feeding time because I know I have to sit there and pump.I have an electric one but its still anoying

pawpaw ointment and try and put them in the air alot. Make sure that you are holding your baby properly. Your baby should always be held at the level of your nipple. Dont lean onto your baby or let your baby fall below that level, he/she will pull on your nipple and it will hurt, otherwise if you are doing all of the above then im sorry but you have to ride out the pain until your nipples get used to feeding

ok so I have been breastfeeding for the last 2 days and as much as it hurts Iam putting up with it,it is better holding him level and Iam trying all ways to hold him.he seems to be sleeping better and longer.I dont think he is getting as much becasue I still have to express after every 3rd feed becasue my boobs are rock hard and I still get a fair bit of milk out.wich is handy becasue my husband got up twice lastnight to feed him so I could sleep.thanx hubby.I do like breastfeeding better and once I get used to it it will be great.no washing up and sterilising or heating bottles, its all ready to go.thanx marija.

sorry to hear your having troubles, i was going to ask if you had lumps around your nipples which could be the start of Mastitis.
i tried nipple sheilds and they didnt work for me, found them tedious and hard to feed, they may work for you...i could of been using them wrong
good luck
