I have anxiety and I use to take colazapam, I haven't taken it since I got pregnant. My anxiety is threw the roof. Not sure what if anything will help. My doc gave me lexapro but I refused because the med is newer and the studies haven't had long term effects and I already have some issues with my little girl due to being premature I don't want to cause any other problems. I don;t want to stop breastfeeding but I don;t know what to do. Help...

I think the only thing you CAN do is talk to your doctor, and see what he/she says!! we're not doctors here, and giving you advice about anxiety pills would be wrong!

go to breastfeeding.com and go to the forums. ask the girls there for a Hale's lookup and tell them what medicne you need to take. there are 4 or 5 ladies on there that had Dr. Hales book. he is the #1 doctor when it comes to knowing about studies done on medicne and breastfeeding. there are lots of medicnes that doctors tell you that are bad while breastfeeding but really aren't. i know of more women that use his book that actual doctors. one lady told her doc about the book and he was like "i have never heard of a book like that, i will have to go out and buy one."
