I just had my first baby 6 days ago, i planned on nursing her , but after the first day i realized i had nothing to give her so i gave her a bottle of formula. The next nite my milk came in and i was able to start nursing, that lasted for about a day and my milk was gone. I've been formula feeding and nursing when i can, is this bad to be switching her from breastmilk to formula so often?

It's not bad. It's up to you how you feed your baby. Breastmilk is always best, but they make some excellent formulas these days. It just depends on what works for you. I switched back and forth. The only bad thing that could come of this is if you are planning on only breastfeeding, you will lose your supply if you miss feedings when you give a bottle.

It is better to breast feed for atleast 1 month and then too if u r not able to feed her, then consult your doc.But it is better to switch on to nursing as one drop or so if she is getting it is well and good

the change up is not that big of a deal many babies need supplemented, but if you plan to breast feed then you need to have every feeding at you breast to establish a good supply other wise you will not make enough milk. it is a supplu/demand cycle when it comes to milk production. If you feel like the baby is still hungry after being at each breast then give a couple of ounces of a bottle after he has fed at both breast for at least 10+ min.
