well as some of you know I had to stop breast feeding kendra until today to see if the soy formula would regulate her digestive system. I have cut out all spicy foods and dairy over the last week, and I am supposed to start breast feeding again today to see if kendra can tolerate the breast milk. PRoblem is that since I have not been feeding her my supply is supper low. I ahve been trying to pump as often as I could, but I did miss a few pumpings and I wasn't pumping at night at all. I know it was dumb of me since my supply was low to begin with. Any way now when I pump I am back to only getting about 1/2 oz instead of the 2-3 oz I was getting when I was feeding her and pumping. Do you think that my supply will go back up if I jsut keep pumping and feeding? I don't want to take the supplements that increase the supply because she seems to be very sensitive and I don't want her to start puking again.

Go to kellymom.com and there's a section about relactation. There's a bunch of articles about reestablishing your milk supply after taking a break from BF. I hope it works out for you and Kendra. I know how much you want to nurse. The fact that you are still producing milk is a really good sign. You'll probably have to nurse a lot, and still supplement some, but at least she'll still be getting some breast milk.

BTW - what pump are you using? I think I'll rent from the hospital to start (the Medela professional grade pump) and then if things look like they're going to work out I'll go buy something. I was wondering how you like your pump:)

I have a medela pump I got is from my job (the hospital). I ahve been pumping and feeding and my supply is getting back to where it was. Still not enough to fill her up, but like you said some is better then none. I tried the supplemental feeder and OMG It took like 2hrs for her to eat. IT was soooo slow. Maybe it is because she is not used to it, but I was going crazy. I am going to try to keep using it, but I had to jsut put the rest of the formula in her bottle. I think she would still be eating right now if I hadn't used the bottle LOL

You should feed your baby every 2-3 hours from the start of her last feeding. Then afterwards, use a double electric pump and pump for 10-15 minutes or so. You may get a little more out but your body will boost its supply because it thinks she needs more. Also, take funugreek to boost up your supply. Good Luck!
