I am hoping someone can help me. My daughter has a three year old son and both of them have been living with my husband and me since the baby was 6 months old. Her ex husband is in the military. In 2008, they were divorced and he signed over his parenting rights to my daughter. She retains sole custody. He did not want the child and repeatedly asked to be emancipated, For two and a half years he has not been involved with this child. However, he is recently remarried and has petitioned the court for residential custody of the child. He now lives 1000+ miles away from us and is still in the military. On top of it all the child has recently been diagnosed with disruptive behavior disorder. His father doesn't believe there is anything wrong with the child and refuses to reach an agreement with my daughter. My question is what are the odds of my daughter's ex getting parenting time that involves sending my grandson 1000 miles away from the only home he has ever known? We are concerned that this could affect him emotionally and in his treament for DBD.

Has this guy been paying CS or did he walk away from his responsibilities?
