My step daughter moved in with us Sept 2010 because her mom was unable to provide a stable environment for her. There was never a court custody order, only child support, which listed the mother as the custodial parent. My husband had the child support order dismissed since the child lives with us now but there is still no custody order through the courts. So my question is, is my husband the custodial parent now? And if the mother wants the child back and my husband does not agree does the mother have to go through the courts for custody? ↓
