I am sharing custody of my seven year old daughter with my husband. My husband has been living out of state for over a year now. We just got our divorce finalized and my daughter is going to be visiting with him for a couple of weeks. He is a loving father and I have every confidence in him. My daughter is a little nervous. She hasn't spent much time with her dad, because he has been living away and working a lot. She is afraid that I am sending her away for ever! How can I reassure her that this is not the case?

Why would she think that?! Hasn't she seen her father since he moved out of state? If you want to put her mind at ease, then try showing her her train/bus/plane ticket and point out that it's a return ticket, not one way.

I'd be interested in hearing how this goes. I'm doing this with kids who are a little older. thanks.
