I was diagnosed with hyperemesis at 6 weeks pregnant, and now I'm approaching my 11th week, I'm still feeling nauseous and am physically sick every other day. My sister had a baby boy, and wasn't very sick at all when pregnant with him; she also has friends who were very sick in pregnancy and had girls, and who were not so sick during pregnancy and had boys. So she thinks I'm going to have a girl for that reason. Are there any moms out there who had the same or different experience as me and went on to have boys?

I don't think that gender has anything to do with it. It really has more to do with you HCG levels then anything. I have a boy already and I am pregnant with a girl right now and I did not have any sickness with either. I did miscarry twins and I was very sick with that pregnancy, becuase twins cause the HCG levels to be much higher.

i was sick for the first 21 weeks. i couldn't eat hardly anything, i was pretty well in bed. it came back for a bit around weeks 28-32, but not as bad. i had my son on december 12th/06.

With Noah I was sick during my entire pregnancy from 5 weeks until I gave birth. I don't mean just a little sick either. I was sick all day at least twice an hour for the first 6 months and at least every other hour for the last 3 months. and I had a boy. So far this time around I'm just sick in the morning. I don't think gender makes a difference on your sickness, but when I was 4 months along with Noah my Doctor told me he thought I was having a boy because I was so sick.

Im 31w5d and I have been violently sick, throwing up, and some more, and more, hospital visits for dehydration, yadi yada, since about week 7 and it is still going on. i am having a boy. so it doesnt matter, just another wives tale

Yah, I don't think the sex of the baby has anything to do with the sickness you have during pregnancy. With my first (girl) I had no morning sickness and with my second (also a girl) I was sick the first few months. I dunno though, never had a boy so I can't compare. :)

I get sicker with my boys and for longer too. With the girls it's usually done by 12 weeks. With the boys 16 to 20 weeks.

Hi briseis
When i was pregnant with my son i was so nauseous the first 3-4 months that i had to quit work cause i was being a bitch to everyone, hehe.
I got pregnant again this past May and had no sickness, but it ended up in miscarriage.
Now im pregnant again (just found out Friday) and i think im about 4-5 weeks and i've been feeling very sick. It lasts ALL DAY LONG and i dont throw up but im at the point right before that, which i think is worse. The thing is with my son i was only sick in the morning. All im hoping is that this baby is okay, i really dont mind the sickness even though i whine about it all day, LOL

lol i agree the feeling like you're gonna puke is actually worse than puking, puking always makes me feel back to normal haha

when i whine my hubby tells me "well throw up!" im like, i cant, i put my finger in my damn throat and i just CANNOT throw up, never been able to. i wish i could though, cause this sucks!! = (

i had the intense nausea for three or four weeks, and i only threw up once it sucked! i wish i had just thrown up, but after that month it was gone! now i just have heartburn like a bitch

with my baby girl I had alot of morning sickness, and it even came back at the end of my pregnancy for a couple weeks. My best friend had a boy around the same time as me and had no morning sickness....they say theres more morning sickness with a girl because of the added estrogen that she brings but who knows how much truth there is to that, it could just have been a fluke with us.

I had morning sickness pretty bad with my son but it ended at 12 weeks. With my daughter I also had sever morning sickness but it lasted until week 16. Also with my son I was given Zofran which help deal with my morning sickness. I was given three different medications with my daughter all of which never did a thing. So yes my morning sickness was alot different then it was with my son.

with all my previous pregnancies (well the ones that lasted so twin boys and one boy) i was EXTREMELY SICK with both...this time around not nearly as bad...just about everyone i know keeps saying i am having a girl now...

Name: mother2five | Date: Feb 21st, 2007 4:47 PM
OMG yes, I just had a girl 8 weeks ago and it was actually the first time I'd ever experienced morning sickness from any of my pregnancies. I was so sick I even feared eating because I knew what was going to happen. We went on a vacation when I was like 9 weeks along and they had all these great places to eat and I was so bummed I had to just nibble and forfiet all the good stuff due to morning sickness......but on a good note, at like 12 or 13 weeks along it just went away as fast as it came. I'm hoping you feel better soon!

Oh yeah btw theres lots of old wives tales that say if you have certain symptoms or crave certain things ect. it determines the gender of your baby such as if you eat lots of sweets and fruits it's a girl, or meat in cheese for boys....who knows if this is true or not but it's fun anyways, if you are trying to figure out what your having theres no 100% untill your Dr. confirms it but I would plug in gender predictors and see what comes up I did that and there was lots of fun tests you can take, some free some not, and as embaressing as it is to admit it I was duped into paying for one via internet and it was WRONG!!!!! The chineese lunar calender seems to be a good one and theres a few more try it and let us know what they say.
