For my bday my hubby got me a mother to be day at the spa. I really need it but I am scared b/c I heard massages contribute to preterm labor. Any thoughts?

Have any of you had a spa treatment while pregnant?

I am a certified massage therapist and have done many massages on expecting moms. Just let everyone at the spa know that you are pregnant and you won't have any problems. There are a couple pressure points in the body (around your ankles and between the thumb and first finger) that could cause preterm labor in the most severe situations, but it's very unlikely. On the other hand, when the time comes to have your baby massaging these points can help speed up labor and delivery. Go get a day of pampering. Everything will be just fine, and you will definitely thank your husband for it when you're done. You'll probably be asking for it once a week!
