Yes. My sister has this. She's delivered two healthy baby girls. (Two years apart) Both were several weeks early but very healthy.

Well i will go in on Monday the 16 and the Dr. will do a saline sonogram and determine what type of uterus I have. He said that is is much more common to have a uterus septum (which can be removed with surgery) then it is to have a bicornuate. he said that either way i should still be able to have a child. If I have a septum then we will do surgery in 2-3 weeks and then i will wait 2 months before taking fertility drugs again. IF bicornuate then i guess we will start take them now??? Not sure I will just keep praying and waiting untill the 16th.

I feel comforted knowing that there are all these women that have uteri. I'm 30 and found out a year ago that I have two seperate horns connected to one cervix. Although the doctors haven't given me all the info I would like, I've at least found out that I am fertile, have one cervix, and no septum. The doc says that I may have to have my cervix sewn up at the end of my first trimester. He also thinks that I may have to be on bedrest for most of the pregnancy and deliver via C-section early. For those women who have had children and the same situation as me - did you have to have your cervix sewn or be on bedrest? Were the doctors majorly concerned about anything? Is there anything I can do to have an easier pregnancy? Thanks!

Grey's Anatomy last night had a story with a gal with two uterus's and she was carrying a baby in each. Of course it was TV drama so one baby had one daddy and the other had another daddy :)

Amsterdam - my sister was on bedrest for two weeks with her first pregnancy. But nothing like that with the second...It probably depends on the size of the two and any complications.

Marti - yes, I saw that on Grey's last night. I thought it was interesting because my doc and I joked about that sort of situation being possible. Of course, you would have to be ovulating on the other side to be able to get pregnant the second time and that's not too probable.
As for your sister...does she have two seperate uteri and only one cervix? I saw pictures of mine when I had a surgery to remove a cyst a couple months ago - and they are two Completely different organs...not heart shaped.
Thanks for your reassurance.

hi everyone! finaly i have found women like me! i am 27 currently living in italy and in may i discovered i had 2 wombs, 2 cervix and 1 kidney. i have always had terrible periods, clotting and not been able to wear tampax etc etc. i was always at the docs in my teens and even had a visit from gyno but no one ever picked up my abnormaties. by having 1 kidney is obviously dangerous when u dont know as u have to be careful wot medicines u can take etc etc
now that i know i have 2 wombs,2cervix i dont know wot to do. some doctors say u can have kids then u cant, i have been on the pill most of my life and when i found all this out i came off the pill, me and my partner have had unprotected sex for approx 6 months but im no pregnant. there is so many things i would like to know, facts etc but it seems everyone says different things, can u get pregnant in both wombs at the same time or by months apart? please email me with your experiences and answers. lisa linda

i just wanted to clarify for everyone. that uterus' develop in halves and come together to form one. when someone has 2 uterus' it is heart shaped and they can't get pregnant in each one, because it is still fused together. i know this for a fact, because my uterus has a problem a lot like this and my doctor made drawings for me and explained the differences.

they just had a thing on yahoo news about a woman who had triplets in her 2 uterus's....twins in one uterus and a single in the other...they were all conceived at once, obviously...but i had never heard of it up until I read that story...and until I came on here....give me a second and I will see if I can get the webpage for you ladies.

yes u can get preg in both wombs at the same time, there are only 50 known women to do so and one of the women is from manchester and bbc did a documentary on er last year, if u have to wombs with 2 cervix u can get preg in both, i have heard if u get preg in one they usually stitch the cervix so u dont get preg in the other. well i ope i become the 51st!!! :)

Hi! Whilst having a miscarraige 7 months ago I was found to have uterus didelphys. Since then I have had a hysterosalpingogram (dye injected into the womb) to see exactly how I'm put together but they could only see one of my wombs. I then had to have exploritory surgery where my doctor found that, like alot of women with this condition, one of my wombs is significantly smaller than the other. In a few weeks time I am going to have the smaller womb sterilised to prevent pregnancy in that womb. It's possible to get pregnant in both but only before the hormones in your body are high enough to stop eggs being released.
