i read in my book that it is totally normal to have increased vaginal discharge. it is usually white or yellow and fairly thick. it is called leukorrhea. it is caused by the increased blood flow to the skin and muscles around the vagina. if you have a vaginal infection, the discharge is yellow or green, foul smelling and causes irritation and itching around or inside vagina. infections during pregnancy are very common and require either a cream or antibiotic. hope this helps.

how do you get yeast infections?

yeast infections can be common during pregnancy. They may be caused by a hormonal imbalance. Also try wearing cotton underwear to avoid excess moisture which yeast thrives on. Try eating yogurt once a day with live active cultures to keep your yeast levels balanced. You can also use over the counter medications such as monistat 7. While pregnant you can't take the oral meds. Only the ones inserted into the vagina.

i had a nurse once tell me that people can drink cranberry juice to get rid of them too. She works with the elderly.

i was always told that cranberry juice was for bladder and kidney infections, not yeast infections.

the discharge is quite normal. During this time in your pregnancy (I'm due in Februaru, as well), you should be experiencing more dishcarge than usual. As long as it is white or clear, without any blood or pain, you are fine. There is even sometimes an odor which is typical, as well.

I am due any minute now,but I myself have the same discharge, however mine has never hurted or irritated me.I also read that it is completly normal for this to happen. So just buy some panty liners, they come in handy and are alot of help.
