i breast and bottle feed my baby she is now 7 weeks and i read online that around this time babys should be drinking 5-6 ounces im not sure how much milk my babys getin. i breastfeed first and then she would unlatch and start crying and no matter how hard i try to get her to latch on she wont (i discoverd this is because at first my milk comes out really fast & lots of it and then when it starts to slow down and drip she lets go) after i breastfeed her i know she still hungry cause she sucks her fingers & then i'll give her 2ounces sometimes she seems satisfied and sometimes she not but im scared to give her more cause she spits up alot & people say it's because im overfeeding her i'm not sure what i should do

She is getting enough, its hard to see what she is getting, but it sounds like she is getting enough though. just keep it up and make sure her weight isnt dropping

i know exactly why she is doing this....
You said you breastfeed and bottlefeed her right??
Well breast feeding takes alot more effort than bottle feeding..
bottle is INSTANT... babies have to work alot harder with breast and they often get lazy and only want the bottle because they know its alot easier..
i had the same problem with my daughter.. she was getting bottle fed by her nana when she babysitted.. and breastfed by me... i eventually took away the bottle because breast is always best and she lost alot of weight because she refused to drink off me.... So i just gave up breastfeeding and bottle fed her to bring her weight back up..

Breast feeding AND bottle feeding isnt a good idea because it causes this problem ALOT.

I would stay away from supplementing. Do your best to drop one feeding per day (of the formula). It sounds like baby is getting enough from just the breast. One of the problems you may be having is the fact that you are supplementing. Each time you give baby something, besides breast, your body is missing the signal to make more milk for baby. Introducing formula because you think baby is not getting enough actually adds to the problem. Make sure you drink lots of water and eat some oatmeal if you are looking to produce more milk. I would be more than happy to offer more help or encouragement. You can do it and you are, just lay off of the formula! Good Luck and know that baby is growing and having wet diapers so baby is getting plenty!

I did both breast and bottle, on advice from my appauling midwife. As a result my own milk supply went down, my baby obviously preferred the bottle (as all babies do) and so it became harder to have him latch on, and so breastfeeding failed completely after 3 months.
