I have all of the curriculum just sitting on the shelf, but I keep procrastinating to get started. I am so nervous because he is my first time to homeschool. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law do too. Anyways, just wondering if anyone had any tips on some asy ways to get him interested and just advice in general that you have found has worked. Oh, and I am using Abeka:)

Ok, I was homeschooled my whole life....I could get you in touch with my mom (she's put 3 of us through high school and working on two more!!) and she'll probably be able to help you. She home schooled all of us from start to finish. Her e-mail address is [email protected] Tell her Hannah told you to e-mail her (she's gonna love me...haha)

congratulations on getting started... 4 is a great age to start, but start slow, the cool thing about hs is you dont have to conform to anyones schedual other than you and your child! abeka is a great system by the way! i would sugest just doing a tiny bit every day, or every other day and feel it out chances are your child will get into it and it will be easy to extend the sessions untill after few weeks you are doing several hours a day. good luck!
