My son has some learning disablities that I have been working on for several years now via our district (failed) and other professionals. Reading and language arts are the main situation. My son is in 7th grade and is about 2 years behind in those subjects. With lots of help from me, he keeps satisfactory grades, however, I think the dont think the core issue of his difficulties are not being addressed and I find it hard to work on homework from school and another program all at once. I dont want my son overloaded. He already labors so much more than most students to get the work done. Our district offers a connections program that is aimed at families that want the best of both worlds. Is anyone else taking advantge of a situation like this? I would love to hear how it is working for you. Alos, does anyone have any home school program suggestions that deal with dyslexia type problems? Phonics never did and never will work.
