Hello, I am the parent of a child with chromosome deletion syndrome 22q11. He is also mentally retarded. I started going to school shortly after my son was born, and I am now beginning my doctorate. I have been a teacher and a school counselor. Both as a parent and as a school employee I have been surprised by the way some of the special education system has been handled. For my class on Clinical Research I am doing a survey on the public school special education system. I wolud love to have feedback from parents who have worked with this system.
