I had been talking with tons of teens over the past month. One thing that they have shared with me was concerning the crazy and disturbing things teens do. They have friends who are at the age of 12 having sex with multiple guys/girls, kids sneaking medicine out of their parents cabinets and taking it to school using it wrong, and then this 30 seconds thing that is going on around schools of America. Parents don't know of course. Do you ever wonder what kinds of things your kids are doing when you are not around? When they walk out of the four doors in the morning, what are they doing? Help me to understand. Do you feel confident that they are doing the right things or do you just hope? How can you be sure they are doing the right things?

It is scary! No, you don't know what they are doing ... I wish we did! It doesn't matter what you teach your children when they become teenagers ... well anything can happen. The problem I believe is no matter how often you tell them you're proud of them or you love them - you're a parent so it doesn't count :( ... they want acceptance from their peers and that is what can get them into trouble. If I could keep my teens in a bubble I would :) But, I can't ... I have to let them go out into the world every day and hope that they hear my voice in their head when they are considering doing something that they know is not a good idea. What I want to know is how do you convince a teenager that you as their parent really do know everything :) or at least a lot more than they do?
