HELP! He's depressed and withdrawn and wants to give up on life. He hibernates in his room and I don't know what to do for him. Part of it is girls,he gets a girlfriend and then she breaks up and he is left heartbroken. No ,he isn't doing drugs or alcohol. He refuses to see a counselor. How can I help him? It's killing me seeing him like this day after day.

Hi Lizzi,
I have 3 teenaged sons. It seems at these ages they try to figure things out on their own. I am not sure where you live but you may want to check out some outside resources such as Big Brother Programs, someone in the family outside of mom he can talk to. There are some wonder internet sites with 800 numbers for kids to call when they depressed or just need to vent to someone. www.parentingteens.com For your son 1-877-723-3767 He can maybe talk on the phone easier.
