Have any of you read the posts on the adoption crowd? I am really getting tired of reading posts like the one below. Don't these people know they should be working with an adoption agency or a social worker. I hope young pregnant girls know not to give their babies away to strangers they meet on a chat room. I think these people are trying to take advantage of pregnant women. You would think they were talking about pets.

I just want to say to them, Hey - pay attention to the paragraph written by BabyCrowd about this forum;

"Trying to make sense of the adoption laws in your state? Confused by the different regulations surrounding international adoption? Wondering what your rights are as a birth parent or as an adoptive parent? Just looking for adoption information? You'll find all the support and advice you need when it comes to child adoption in this forum."

Does it say anywhere this is a place to meet and match? NO! Maybe we should all email Hearthsone Communications (Contact button at bottom of page) and request that they add another line to this paragraph stating:

This is not a place for prospective adoptive parents and expectant / birthmothers to meet or match

Chat Rooms are NOT places for adoptive parents to solicit birthparents. It is not appropriate for hopeful parents to post “I can help” messages, or internet addresses for birthmothers to visit, or to send this type of e-mail to birthmothers.

Conversely, it is not appropriate for birthparents to use the Chat Room to solicit adoptive parents. There is no way of knowing which parents on the message board are qualified to adopt.

I recommend that birthmothers search for licensed adoption agencies in their state. Any of these agencies can assist with options planning.

These are the children that get sold to other countries as slaves of all types! Very sick if you ask me.

It is a violation of babyCrowd's term of agreements to
"Post any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials or any other form of solicitation without the express permission of BabyCrowd.Com"

*****
I think posting threads asking if anyone is interested in using you as a surrogate is soliciting. Also, posting a thread stating that you are looking for a home for your child is soliciting. Also, posting threads asking people to contact you to arrange possible adoptions is soliciting.

what difference does it make if people are advertising through a paper or online? Or an agency for that matter!? either way you still aren't going to know the people!!!!!!

luckey in life-

why would you get "tired of reading posts" like that? Just because someone is desperate to be a parent does not automatically equate to them taking advantage of someone. I don't see anything that reflects someone talking about a pet and shame on you for even making such a comparison.
