Are all e. bulldogs very nutty over food? Last night mine made this super heroic jump and snatched pizza right from my son's hand! This is the same little guy that whimpers like a baby until someone picks his chunky butt up and puts him on the couch.

I wouldnt put him on the couch when he was begging that will only make him beg more. As for the food grabbing any dog will attemp that if they are allowed to.

I dont allow my dogs in the kitchen where food is, they are never fed table food! By not feeding them table food it desensatises them to table it so they eventually dont care about it.

I am definately the pack leader in the house. We don't GIVE them table food at all. Our Shepherds ignore us when we are eating because they know better. I did and do the same thing with the Bully but everytime he even hears a wrapper crinkle he comes running full speed even though he never gets anything. I was just wondering if they are naturally greedy to the point that he can't quite make the jump to the couch on his own but can miraculously leap great heights for pizza!

You got stubborn right! Didn't believe they could be all that bad 'till I saw it myself. Stubborn x3!!! Ooh but yes, way too cute!! He makes the best noises too...chuffles & snorts & grunts. Everyday he does something to make us LOL! I almost lost my own pizza to the pup cause I was laughing so hard watching my 6'2 son try to retrieve his dinner. Why would he even want it back?!? There was more in the box...must be a man thing! LOL...big college football kid looses pissing contest w/baby Bully.

my bully only barks and bites on my wife he doesnt bark and snap at me he only seems to do this for attention and it seems to be in a playful manner im not sure if he doesnt seem to like me or if he is afraid of me. Im not sure what to do about that. i play with him alot but he seems to be more agressive towards her. Any suggestions, also is it natural for him to growl and snap at us when we try to pet him when he chews on a pig ear?

He is not afraid of you...he is showing respect to you because he sees you as "top dog". But on the other hand, he is trying to show domination over your wife. If she does not start exerting some authority over him he will continue jumping, barking, and chewing on her. She doesn't have to be mean...she just has to show him that she means business. Mine does the same thing to my DH. He used to think it was cute, now he has a 65lb Bully attached to his ankle every time he walks through the door.

Yes it is natural for them to growl etc. over toys/snacks. Again it is a dominance thing...Bullies are notorious for wanting to be in charge. When he growls take it away and keep repeating this until he stops. I don't believe he would EVER bite to cause harm, it's just not in their nature to be vicious, but they do need to be kept in check!

P.S. I used to be Sunshine1...changed user name.
