I didnt relaly want to make a whole new post for now relaly "new" information. But i did promis that i would make my own on Firday--today. Anyway--today was shelter day :) We went to every shelter with in 30 min. I saw many dogs, but none that would really work for my family. I found the sweetest baby. It was a female but it was 7 years, kinda old. It was kinda big too and we dont want that. It was horrible because i knew that this dog was telling me to give her a chance, but i couldnt. It was nice and fluffy, and sitting at the corner of its cage. I came over and kneeled next to it, but it just eyed me. I said "Come here baby, i wont hurt you, i just want to love you that's all, i love you." It peeked its head out and licked my out reached hand through the cage. I kept cooing it to come out of the corner and finally it did. It started licking my hand freicouly and crying with joy that somebody was finally showing intrest in her. Then i stood up and it started to whimper. It had never whimpered before. I put my hand up and she sat. She was trained and was the perfect dog for me, not my FAMILY. I showed my mom, but she didnt give my seet heart a secong chance "too big, too old" I knew she was big, but i didnt just want to leave her there. I had no choice. I'm almost positive that she will have to be humanly euthanized because of her age, but only if i could have given her the second chance she needed. Oh well there will be others that need my help too. I will keep everyone updated :)

| 7-years isn't very old depending on the health of the dogs. Some dogs can live for 15+ years. I don't think you should judge a dog because of it's age. You may adopt a 2-year-old, only to find it has a chronic heart condition, and will only live a couple more years, whereas the 7-year-old may be perfectly healthy and live 7 more years! Size, however is an issue. A larger dog will eat more, and probably need longer walks. It may also be clumsier round the house than would a small dog. Good luck in finding your dog. x ↑ |

Your exactly RIGHT! but....my mom has the final say in the matter unfortunatly because even though im taller hehe (im 5"8 and she's only 5"7) shes the parent! gahh i hate that :P anyway...The dog was so sweet and i LOVED her. I dont even care about size..... but w/e As long as i get one im alright Now we're stuck because we have gone to every shelter near by. So know we are going to rescues for certain breeds to try to find a dog. And about size.....we have a BIG house, im not trying to brag but it would be allowed inside and outside and get walked everyday no matter what. A pretty big backyard, too. Gahhhhhh!!!!!!! It's really frustrating...but atleast i understand. Because ive waited for so long i know that i can wait a few weeks or how everlong it will take. Just the thought of getting a dog keeps me going!! I'll keep you guys updated ♥♥♥

| okay. We went looking today at our local shelter. We had already been there, but we wanted to check for any new dogs. We filled out a sheet asking what kind of dog we would like and other stuff. Then we drove about an hour away and looked at a miniture poodle rescue. The lady was really mean, really really mean. We thought one was cute and nice but it would play or anything. It would be good for an elderly couple-not us. Anyway after about an hour there we went home-with no dog :( We'll find one though :PP ↑ |

| hmm we sorta looked today.....well we went to Petsmart and they have dogs and cats in the back wednesday-sunday. They had only 2 dogs their. One had been adopted and the other was a blck lab puppy----too big and we dont want a puppy. GAHH this is hard. We still have a shih tzu rescue to go to, and then back to square one. We're looking for bichon frise rescues and trying to find other shelters, i'll keep you updated. I'm not sure when we're going to go to the shih tzu rescue.....My mom really wants a dog now, she saw all the shelters and she addmitted that it hurt her so im glad she's starting ot see the way i think. :) ↑ |

| I knew that i had a good feeling about this shelter!!! We adopted a dog today-August 9. She is a little miniture poodle-all white female 2 years. We're thinking about naming her Lola :) She is MY dog and im the OWNER. She's very loving, and wild. She'll run around the room, but when i pick her up she just looks up at me with this beautiful eyes and "says" DO YOU LOVE ME! well she doesnt really say it of course but...you get it. We will pick her up Saturday night or Monday because she needs to be groomed and spayed. I'll write more back then but for now I HAVE A BABY GIRL!! :D and i LOVE HER TO DEALTH! ↑ |
