As my earlier post said we've been having trouble keeping the dogs in the fence... well I watched them the other day from the window and saw how they are getting over and getting under. We have a picnic table a ways from the fence but apparently if they get up on the table they can jump over the fence... problem solved we moved the table. They are digging their way out going under the fence. So hubbie spent hours digging 2 feet out from the fence and about 6 inches deep and laid down chicken wire and wired it to the fence so they would dig and hit the chicken wire so they shouldn't be able to get out. Wrong! The dog went through the chicken wire... we still haven't figured out how since all the wire is in place and still fastened to the fence. Grr

ok i talkedto my groomer, breeder / boarder and she suggested you put electiric to it . she said she has dog that will get out with the wire on the ground but has not had a problem with the electric wire. also she suggested to put a pad down of concret if you wanted.

Try providing them wiyh another digging area, by placing loose soil on the top surface of the ground. When you see the dog digging at the fence clap or make a loud noise and tell him NO DIG! then amediatly bring him to the area you have provided for him. Keep watching and when you see him digging do the same thing be consistant! Dogs will dig for many reasons, bordome the scent of another animal if they are not neutered and some times just for the freedome! Is your dogs young old neutered spay? Do you leave them in the yard for the whole day while you work, and do they have any toys or some thing to occupie thier time out there?

The one that gets out the most is about 7 months. He hasn't been neutered yet. They have toys galore both in the house and out. They are only outside for about 20 mins at a time. We'll have to look into getting an electric wire... thanks willbe!
