My dog has be neutered so that does not explain his reson for trying to mount me and biting me. But I question his trying to mount me and begin to attack occurred while running with him. I question would running with him have any bearing on this sudden behavior?

maybe u stepped on him, on accident, or he stepped on something and thoiugh u hurt him. but your dog needa to learn that YOU are his master and his behavior is unnacceptable. dogs are pack dogs rihgt, and dogs that bite thier owners think they are the pack leaders. i suggest staring your dog in he eye until he turns his head, this may take a while but if he turns his head first he knows ur in charge. next i suggest going in front of him, and bending over him, and hugging him, [like your hugging his neck but your head id over his back from the front] this is also a gesture of dominance.

http://www.leerburg.com/

Start doing these things:

-Don't let him onto the couch
-Only feed him during timed parts of the day
-Do not follow him through doorways, go in first, and if he tries to get ahead of you, push him into the wall with your knee
-If he's one of those dogs that demands pets, make him do something first, like sit, or lay down before you pet him
-Make sure he sees you eat before he gets a chance to eat

If him trying to mount you and then becoming aggressive is a dominant act, you must think like a dog, because YOU are the alpha dog. If you let him become higher than you in the pack, he will rule you and your house, and that is where injuries and attacks by pit bulls start. I strongly suggest you reading Leerburg's website. It's the largest training site on the internet. :-)
