I have the sweetest dog in the world. She is smart and funny and good with children. If you like small dogs, Yorkies are definately the best! Any other Yorkie lovers out there?

Yorkies are cute little buggers. They are very smart, but I'm not a terrier person (or more like terror-lol)
I have a Maltese for my lap, a Doberman to look tough (And try to sit in my lap) and a Shiloh Shepherd to love me and my kids...and just be a big teddy bear (oh, and she's training for therapy work)

But yeah-I like yorkies-my sister in law has a nice one.

Lynne, I have a Doberman too! they are the best dogs ever. Mine is a red male he is from the German blood line. He has a more muscluar body and his jaw line is more square apose to the american doberman that is more sleeke. He is a wonderfull dog the best we have ever owned. It is funny that you mentioned your dog sits in your lap..... mine does the same thing. Dobermans are extremely smart and eager to learn. My doberman is a self taught assistance dog, my daughter is in a wheel chair.... she trained him to do every thing on comand including poop & pee LOL LOL !!!

i have my first yorkie, she is 8 mos old and I am in love with this breed. I have had dogs all my life i have an 11 yr old maltese and none have compared to my yorkie. I think yorkie owners go a little crazy or at least i have according to my family:)

tasha, yorkies are a little hard to train, but stick with it they are a little stubborn but they do want to please. my maltese took a while to train as well small dogs seem harder. if potty training try a crate, just be patient they are well worth it.

I believe Gawd made little yorkies for those of us whom need a loving, faithful and loyal companion. My Ziggy needs me as much as I need him. How did I manage to get such a sweet and loving companion to share life with.

my yorkie is 9 years old and weighs almost 3 pounds. he is the love of my life. i thank the dear Lord everyday for giving him to me. because of his size, i get to sneak him in anywhere. one time i put him in my jacket and went to the movies. no one was aware of it until he gave out a yap! everyone just looked and laughed once they saw his adorable tiny face. i love my gizmo to death! he can be spiteful at times, and have an accident on purpose when i am gone, but sometimes i question it cause he does have a very tiny bladder and might not be able to hold it like other dogs. no matter what, i would not trade him in for a zillion dollars! i feel blessed to have him, no matter how bad a day i am having, all i have to do is think of him and i can smile. thanks again Lord!

is there a way to tell if yorkies have mated? I am not at home and I have a male and female and the female went into heat about a week ago and I don't know if the have mated yet . I was told not to let them mate but for only two days because if she has puppies the pups may be born at different times and may die. could you help me with this? Thanks

Hi everyone. I am getting a yorkie in 4 weeks. I am totally excited love them so much. My mum is getting one for her house too, it is my puppy's sister. She already has 2 caviler king charles, we are a bit worried that the yorkie might get upset with how jumpy and excited the other 2 are. Any suggestions? also any suggestions for potty training? I was told to try out the new house breaking pads....*J*
