Does anyone think that I should get another cat from the cat rescue place? I have a cat from there already, but I'd like another one.

Ya sure why not! the kitty you already have would probably like a play mate. Its good to see you adopt, many people buy their pets at the local pet store.

I think it's better to adopt. I don't think that cats or dogs should be sold in pet stores.

atomic snowflake, I totaly agree with you! I dont think they should eather. Most pet stores buy their animal stock from mills where they are poorly bread and even wors poorly cared for. The dogs are placed in cages that often times are to small, they cant even lay down! It is dispicable how they are kept!

I'm worried that my cat won't get along with a stranger though. I caught her hissing at the cat a few doors down earlier on. When I went to stroke her to calm her down she went crazy and hissed at me and I just managed to dodge her claws!!! *LOL*

I'd love another cat though.

How old is your cat? Im assuming it is a female. You could be right about her not getting along with another cat. I would say if you get a second cat be sure it is the oposite sex from the one you already have. If you get the same sex you chances are much higher that they will fight . I have a cat she is about 9 and will not get along with any cat no matter what the sex. So it is not always the rule that the opposit sex will get along! It just means you will have a better chance.

Ohhh Ya! How about a kitten! Most cats male of female will get along ok with a kitten. The kitten may torture the cat and the cat may slap the kitten around a little, but they eventually will get use to each other and it will stop. Mind you the cat will not seriously hurt the kitten!

My cat is about eight. The vet wasn't sure how old she was when I got her due to her being a stray. She loves living with us and loves my toddler. Do you have cats? I find them so cosy and relaxing to have around.

The cat that comes to visit us is a male and is trying hard to be friends with my cat (he's been neutered). I find that male cats are more affectionate than female ones. My cat likes to sit on the wall watching him, but also warns him off with hisses. My cat has been neutered also.

Yes I have a 9 year old spay remale, she belonged to my sister. Last year she had to move and where she was moving to she coulnt have her. I told her to bring her to my houe, I didnt want her to be placed in a shelter. There are already to many cats ther and she would surly be put to sleep. Before her I had a male cat his name was Sunny, he was like my child I loved him so! One day he just disapeared and I never found him. He was older beeing 17 at the time, he also had hyperthyroid dis order. There for beeing verry thin, he could have an attatude at times but he was my lovable guy! Not even a year after Sunny was gone my female cat Amber came down with cancer, she died 1 month later. I agree I think male's are more lovable, my husband would disagree he thinks the females are. I guess it depends on the cats personality.
