I have what may seem like a really random question--I am a professional actor working on a show where I play a woman in her early thirties who had a child when she was 15, and raised him with the child's father. Then when the boys father is 17, he leaves. What I'm wondering is--is anyone on this forum a woman who had a child at a very young age, and raised it without the help of extended family? And what can you share with me about what it's like as that child goes through adolesence? What's it like to watch your child reach an age that you were never really allowed to live through, because you had a baby already? Does that make sense?!

Basically, do you personally, or from friends, have some stories of what it was like? Or even possibly a movie or a book you read that tells this story, of a woman watching her child reach an age where she was already forced to have grown up by. Any and all help would help me make the story better, and I look forward to learning more about it!
