Hi there!
My son is 7 and has a G-tube since he was a 18 months old. His G - tube hasn't started leaking until he got a fundo 2 years ago. The Docs here in Canada that he sees also say it is not a problem. They are looking into getting him a mickey button. Don't really know if I should switch. I am happy with the G tube for now. If you want to talk more either email me at dvcmasi@goredlake.com or send a message on here. I am always open to hear stories about other moms who are going through the same thing I am. Hope to hear from you!

hi ana my name is stephanie and my 2 year old daughter hailey has a mickey button as well and yes it drains alot. well at least my daughters does, and sometimes i do see blood around her gtube site but yes i have been told that it is normal as well. does your daughter have granulation tissue around her button ? my daughter gets alot of granulation tissue and every so often i have to do silver nitrate on it and burn off the excess skin . but what i am getting at is if she has granulation tissue aroung the area and if you do silver nitrate on it, it burns the skin and helps the area from leaking and even stops the bleeding. but if she dont and shes still bleeds and there is still leakage i would see your pediatric surgeon who placed the tube in or see a gastroenterologist about that problem

frequently check the balloon water level it may need to be increased also, try using biatain on a regular basis, your feed team can hook you up with some as well as ask your feed team for zinc oxide cream to help create a vapor barrier around the site so as the skin will not become as irritated.
