Hello everyone, I am a relatively new teacher for children with autism and am in pursuit of my Master's Degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis. As part of my Master's Degree courses, I would like to get to know parents of children with autism's perspective on the trials, tribulations, and of course joys of having a child on the spectrum! :)

I am particularly interested in areas of transitioning, planning outings, safety, and any concerns/issues with IEP meetings and the special education process in general.

Any comments and feedback is VERY much appreciated in my research!

Thank you all! :)

I have worked with children with autism and an Auntie of two with autism, one with dual diagnoses. I will say that the most important piece of the puzzle is that everyone is on board and following the IEP. When one area diverts, everything falls like dominos. My sister deals with the youngest having violent outbursts, he is 8 yrs old. The med dr does not listen to the reg doc and the school and case worker do not touch base frequently enough. Communication is key as well as having better home based programs.
