My 18 month old daughter was recently diagnosed with mixed cerebral palsy. In some ways, it is very mild because she can walk and run. But at other times it is very apparent as she is so stiff she can hardly walk, drags her left foot and falls constantly. She also trembles, has hand tremors and sometimes has large choreathetoid movements when she is super tired. I worry that she is in pain when she is extremely stiff. Can anyone give me any insight as to what she is feeling? Any advice?
Also, the doctor wants to try her on Baclofen. Although I feel that she would benefit it, I am concerned about long term use in someone so young and I am concerned that a muscle relaxant may make her choretic movements worse. Any input out there?
