My daughter was diagnosed with porencephalic cysts and hydrocephalus at birth (36 weeks). She received a vp shunt at 5 days old, and it seems to be working well.
At our 6 week check up the doctor told us that the cysts are getting bigger. He then left ... we thought that he was coming back, but he never did... so I have a lot of questions.
We are scheduled for an MRI in a few days. Hopefully we'll get a chance to talk with the doctor then.
Does anyone know
1. why porencephalic cysts get bigger
2. what can be done
3. is this commom
or anything else that may help us understand what is happening. ↓
