i always thought like that with my son who is now 12 you will cope as there is light at the end of the tunnel i find that caring for my poorly son is real hard work but very rewarding i also have to other sons and its a constant juggle to find time for them to email me bk at [email protected]

You don't have to do everything on your own. There are resources out there to help you, you just have to do a little research. Call your local MHMR for help. They helped me. My son is 27 going on 5 yrs.

I love him very much and can't imagine life without him. It was scary when I was your age, and he was little, but the future has a way of turning out all right.

Don't be scared. It will be O.K.

You can do it. I'm a mother of disabled child and was terrified of the future. If you believe in God let him be your guide. And, remember your child deserves you, just as much as you deserve your child. I was 21 when i gave birth to my daughter who has spina bifida, never thought, I would make it either, but she's 8 now. I thank God everyday for my angel.

Hi there!
I am a single mother of a 7 year old boy. He functions at a 4 month level. He has a severe disability. I also thought that I couldn't do it on my own.........but it is not that bad. Some days are much harder than others but I get through it. Every day he is living is a blessing. If you want to keep in touch email me at [email protected]. Would like to talk to other single mothers that understand.
Take care and remember our litttle angels are sent to us for a reason. Be strong........everything will be fine.
Debbie
