When my daughter was born (almost 5 weeks ago), I had my tubes tied. Well yesterday I have started having sharp pains on my lower right side. When I put my hand at the very bottom of my pelevis where it meets my hip, the pain is right at my pointer/index finger. I was at my moms yesterday and of course she automatically thinks its my appendix, but I dont think I am hurting enough for that. I thought maybe it had more to do with the tubal? I mean I was able to fall asleep and it only hurts terribly when I pick my son up and now standing up... any ideas?

*But good news, Belle's medicine seems to help her with the reflux, major decrease in the spit up, so that makes me VERY happy!

Sorry tylersmom, i haven't had my tubes tied, but i would imagine that u would still be getting pain from it, it was only 5 weeks ago when u had it done and all kinds of surgery can take time to heal. If it was your appendix, the pain would be quite severe and wouldn't come and go, you would pretty much be doubled over with the pain and it would just keep getting worse, i think the appendix is a bit higher than where u are describing as well. Good to hear that Belle's reflux is getting better, i know you were really worried about that the other day

Exactly what I thought! I guess I will give my Ob/gyn a call in a little while. Wasn't sure whether to call her or my general practioner. Guess we will see BUT hopefully it goes away, I could have too just pulled something the wrong way.

Thank you, I was worried sick and exhausted but actually I was worried yesterday because she slept so much hehe... guess she was making up for lost time poor thing!

It could be an ovarian cyst. You're ovaries will still be functioning even though you've had your tubes tied.

yep, kids do make up for it sometimes don't they!!? Good idea to ring your OB, but like i said, if the pain gets really bad and doesn't get better, that would be worrying, the see your GP or go to emergency

Atomic do you think that could be causing pain like I described?

Yeah, that could be causing the pain. I don't know much about gynae probs, but I have a friend who suffers from this problem.

Maybe a hernia? That can happen after you have surgeries. I had my gallbladder out, and I was off work for 6 weeks because I worked on the ambulance and had to lift people, and the doctor didn't want me to develop a hernia,

I don't know really but I am hoping that I just pulled something or something and just give it some time but if it gets too much to handle I will call ASAP.

i had a tubal about six months ago and i still get a pain every now and then! at 5 weeks....i was in a lot of pain. the doc said it could take 2 months to fully recover:(
it took about that for me and i usually recover from surgerys pretty quick. that one though....it was a doozy lolol

sorry to hear youve had pain....
Ive had a tubal ligation and ovary cysts....heheheheheh im the winner!!!
i havent had pain from either....the ovarian cysts were found on a check up after my baby...then i fell pregnant while i had them..(something the docs said COULDNT happen)...i had them removed when i was 14 weeks pregnant. one had grown to the size of a cricket ball...yep ewwwww.
anyway i dont recall any pain...even supposing they were that big
EVERYONE obviously is different :-)

Haha.. Marija... you win! They found a cyst on me too when I got pregnant with Tyler, I never hurt until, the night he was born it started to rupture (part of the reason he was born via C-section that and we both went into distress and he stopped breathing-dramatic evening) BUT that hurt.. hehe! What I am thinking is maybe I could be starting to ovulate again and it just is painful?? I dunno.. I'm still kicking so hopefully it will go away, it doesnt hurt as bad now anyway!
