So Silas decided that 4:30am was a great time to start the day.
He got up, went to the living room, turned on the lights and started to play with his toys. Then he came into our bedroom and was chatting away.
I looked at the clock and almost died.
I did my best to get him to go back to sleep but I'm pretty sure he was just sitting in his room reading his books and playing with his toys.
Either way I went back to bed.
Then he came in again at 7am and I told Jason that he had to get up since I was so nice to get up with him at 4:30.

Now he's grumpy as hell even though he's had a nap and I am feeling a little flustered.

I asked him a few minutes ago if he was hungry. He said yes.
I said "What would you like to eat?"
He said "Yes."
So I said "What would you like?"
He said "Yes."

Grrrr! What a frustrating day today has been! lol

Fingers crossed he goes to bed nicely tonight!

LOL I guess its one of those days. Derek wakes up EVERY morning @ 5:45 -6:15 just when it is thinking about getting light out. This morning when he came in I just started crying. Hubby was like "whats wrong" I blubblered that I just can't wake up this early EVERY morning. I mean I was bawling...really dramatic younno. So hubby got up instead and let me sleep in til 8!!! Ya think this tactic might work again tomorrow???

Joey has nights like that as well. Not much you can do I suppose. :(

my kids wake up around 630am but they stay in their rooms and play until we open the door. i don't know why. they've never even TRIED to come in our room in the mornings...they just wake up and start playing quietly in their rooms. lol...i usually go and open the door around 7am. can't complain!!

Joey's the same. I wake up at around 7am by the sound of him chatting to his toys. :) I get to tidy up the house, let the dogs out and make breakfast before going in to him at around 7.20. He's so chilled out.

I'm sure Silas wouldn't mind playing in his room until 7am but his door is broken right now so it doesn't close properly.
Our landlord was supposed to fix it a few weeks ago and has been in town several times since it's been busted but has not yet come to fix it. I'm getting frustrated about that.

For some reason Silas's door had a lock on it that required a key(which we weren't given a key for). We had the baby guards on the door knob so we didn't think too much of it but he managed to get his little fingers in there and lock himself in one night.

We checked with our downstairs neighbor(the landlords daughter) and she didn't know anything about it so the landlord was called(he lives up in Prince George so it's not like he's nice and close)
Anyways, he didn't know anything about it either and had no idea where any key for it would be.

At first it wasn't a huge deal because Silas was just giggling and playing while Jason and I tried to figure out how to pick the lock.
Then Silas started to cry so I of course started to lose my mind.
I could see under the door so I knew where he was in the room. I told him to go get on his bed and he did, then Jason booted the door in.

So now his door is pretty much fine, nothing was broken on the door frame or anything but he only has door handles with nothing to latch it to the door frame once it's closed.

So that's why he has free roam in the mornings.
Hopefully we get his door fixed soon so I can at least sleep until 7am. :)

can you go buy the hardware to fix the door and take it off of your rent since nothing was broken on the frame?

i was thinkin the same thing. just fix it, keep all the receipts, and take it off your rent.

omg. my daughter locked herself in one of the bedrooms at my mil's house. i was FREAKING OUT!!!! lol...no key. then i tried to climb through the window, but mil is paranoid and had a stick in the sill so you couldn't slide it. arg. their house is locked behind gates and she has to put sticks in all her windows???????????? so frustrating!! lol...so we had to break the door down.

It's not an easy fix or I would have done it myself already.
I told Jason that we should just buy a new door and get the landlord to take it off our rent, but I doubt he'll get around to it.

I might just get one of those little hooks for the outside of his room for now. Just to keep him in there.
